Sometimes we just need to listen to our bodies. This morning the interior side of my right ankle and the left side of my SI-Joint were giving me some grief. These are my week points and I have a number of ways that I combat them. I take daily walks, rotate multiple pairs of supportive athletic shoes, utilize an excellent stretching routine that was custom designed to address my particular problems, and have regular sessions with a massage therapist. The weak link in my current scenario is that Covid-19 has canceled my access to massage. To make it worse, I was already negligent here due to some appointment cancellations. Massage is an incredible tool. I am looking forward to getting back on track. Truth be told, even though I know better, I also sometimes play roulette with my stretching routine. Hey, nobody’s perfect.
This morning to Baxter’s dismay, I listened to my body and substituted our headland walk with the short walk to the grocery store and Post Office. We needed supplies and my Marine Biologist turned Sci-Fi Novelist husband Brian Tissot has a new book out and some copies needed to be mailed. (Female heroine, futuristic, environment, competitive surfing, oceans, planets. Interested? Check out Briantissot.com to learn more about, “Songs of Thalassa.”) I try to be the first in line when the USPS opens and since the two are located next to each other it’s easy to take care of business in one fell swoop.
Mission accomplished, I got home to do my stretching routine, rocking out while listening to John and the Boys of CCR. Maintenance tasks completed we are taking it easy today. Sometimes you just gotta know when to “say uncle.” #iluvtowalk #walkingmakesmehappy #baxteronthego

Thumbs up to you
