I’ve mentioned before that Baxter is very cued into my behavior and knows the signals of when I’m getting ready to take a walk. Once he realizes what I’m doing, he doesn’t leave my side for fear of being left behind. He knows how cute he is and without training will sit and beg when he wants something. This hard to resist tactic applies to our daily walks. Hence today’s lead photo. Yes, that image was taken right before I left the house to go on my walk.
Baxter lives for our walks. When we are out and about the people we come across almost universally comment on how enthusiastic and happy he looks. I think he may just love walking more than I do. And boy is he buffed. Those little legs get quite a workout on our route. So walking the dog is good for the both of us.
If there ever was an excuse to bring a dog into your life, needing a walking buddy is a great one. A dog who comes from a happy home LOVES his or her people. They WANT to be with you. They will follow you just about any where. Meaning, they won’t bail on you as a walking partner. In fact, they can become your incentive to put on those athletic shoes and start or keep walking. Baxter is always overjoyed to go for a walk. Don’t have a dog? Maybe you have a neighbor who has a dog that needs walking. Food for thought. #iluvtowalk #walkingmakesmehappy #baxteronthego

Good advice.
