Today brought a nice balmy, foggy morning that later turned to sunshine. As Baxter and I circled the headland I realized something. Many of the people who visit our area do so with two primary objectives: to see whales and big trees (Redwoods). I love and enjoy them. They are both spectacular. There is nothing like spotting a migrating grey whale and her calf or taking a hike thru a Redwood forest. Words really don’t do those experiences justice. But, there is so much more to see if one looks closely.
Landscapes are filled with big and small parts. Often the little things are missed or taken for granted. Nature provides spectacular beauty in many forms. Masked by the big sensational parts (trees, whales, seals, beaches, geological formations like islands and headlands) there are so many tiny and small parts that are beautiful. I’m talking about birds, invertebrates, plants and beach sand with its debris. All of which captures my attention. #iluvtowalk #walkingmakesmehappy #baxteronthego
