Yesterday was Mother’s Day! A day to relish in our own family accomplishments (be they human children, fur babies, or other extended relationships) and to enjoy memories of our own mothers. Everyone has a mother so the day is one we all share.
My day started and ended with my wonderful husband knocking himself out and making both a lovely brunch and later a scrumptious dinner. Brian Tissot is the master at making Eggs Benedict and seafood dinners. Mid-day we had a Zoom conversation with our two grown children. Both of our kiddos are following their dreams and charting their own professional paths. They are set on making a difference in the world. We could not be more proud of them and are inspired by their dedication to humanity. It’s important to raise good humans. The world needs more of them.
What made the day even more spectacular was a lengthy morning stroll on the beach with my husband during a really nice minus tide (-1.64). Minus tides are literally a gift from above. On Trinidad State Beach (TSB) it means that the natural arch and boulder field that connects one beach to another (TSB to College Cove) was exposed and accessible. The ultimate for beach combing and photo ops. There were only twenty other people scattered about on the beach. If we were further south those numbers would climb exponentially. Living behind the “Redwood Curtain” has its perks. To our JRT Baxter’s dismay he was left at home. #iluvtowalk #walkingmakesmehappy
