Today’s walk was once again in the misty and balmy morning fog. The trees were dripping like a drizzling light rain due to the heavy moisture in the air. However, things seemed to have gone back to normal. Unlike yesterday the song birds and crows were present and the fog horn and buoys were back in action. Atmosphere while working out makes all the difference.
The city of Trinidad continues to ask us to go one direction when walking on the headland trail. It’s a very clear request with two roadblocks in place to state the rules. By now (and with Covid-19 numbers spiking again) everyone should be trained or sensitive to the logic of such action. Unfortunately there are still rogue folks out there who don’t seem to get it that we are in midst of a pandemic. In addition, our little hamlet has been getting hit pretty hard by tourists. Even our County Supervisor recently went on public record with concern about the potential of Covid-19 spread due to the increased tourism.
I usually don’t say anything but today I just felt compelled to comment. As this woman I had never seen before (thinking tourist) went walking past me I mentioned to her that she was going the wrong way. She rolled her eyes, mumbled something I couldn’t hear, and continued walking in the same direction. Sigh….
As the morning progressed the fog passed and we received some glorious sunshine. Shhhh, kept that to yourself. We wouldn’t want the rest of the world knowing….
