Today is a Monday and usually Mondays are quiet and low key but not today. The usual shift change between groups of tourists doesn’t seem to have happened. Because of Covid many people are staycationing or staying more regional rather than flying somewhere. These folks have discovered Trinidad.

Local businesses are all a flutter with activity which is great for the business community. Tricky though for us residents who have been spoiled living in our quiet little hamlet. Stressful for those of us who have high risk people in our lives and worry about Covid. Glad I left Baxter home; Trinidad State Beach and the headland were filled with families with dogs on outings. The norm for a Monday is just a handful of people. This might sound like complaining (it is) but as they say, everything is relative. The weather was great today, sunny, no wind and calm water.
