I believe things happen for a reason. About 3 years ago while completing my walk on Trinidad Head I met an older woman who gave me some health advice. She stopped me as I was exiting the headland and said, “when you get home, elevate your legs above your heart for 15 minutes. I know what I’m talking about. You should do this after each of your walks.” The advice came from an elder woman that I guessed was approximately 80 years old and also walking the headland. I had never seen this woman before and have not seen her since.
I truly do think things happen for a reason and that people come into our lives at the appropriate times. Whether or not one realizes or understands it. I heeded the warning and after each of my walks I elevate my feet above my head for 15 minutes. Weather permitting I do this on a padded lounge chair on our deck. Otherwise I use our bed, the wall next to it and pillows. I use the time to preview the new photos I’ve taken and check social media. I believe this action has served me well. Good circulation is key to maintaining mobility. If your curious, the internet is full of information about the benefits of this simple practice.
It was a foggy start to the day so today’s pics are limited but still interesting. It’s fascinating how different a location can look depending on the weather. Enjoy! #iluvtowalk #baxteronthego
