Today’s Walk: August Rush

We are having an incredible month of August (Northern Coast of California). The weather has been amazing with the ocean and bay FLAT for about 6 weeks now. Talk about an August rush! Yes there have been mornings with early fog (and many without; see yesterday’s post) but once the fog clears, our days have been spectacular! At the time of this post, it’s 72 degrees in Trinidad.

Because it’s fire season, this time of year is a challenge for so many in the state. We are all wishing for rain to grace the south of us and help dampen the numerous lightning fires. According to Cal Fire, at the time of this post, 204,481 acres have burned, 779 structures damaged or destroyed and one loss of life. My heart goes out to everyone impacted by these fires. It is certainly a time to count your blessings.

I am grateful for where we live. Humboldt is home to an incredible landscape that includes easily accessible public lands. The outdoor recreational opportunities are endless. My daily pics are just a glimpse into the incredible beauty outside our front door. It’s my pleasure to be able to share. Enjoy! #iluvtowalk #baxteronthego
