While taking our morning spin around the headland I realized just how much all the external noise (political craziness) is getting to me. I suspect I am not alone.
I started this blog because I wanted an outlet but also to keep an electronic journal. To me, Facebook algorithms are nonsensical and almost like posting to a black hole. It’s not very conducive to the historical perspective so I turned to a blog format. At times though, I’ve wondered if my posts were getting stale. Doing as many as six daily posts using the same route may lose some people’s attention. Devoted naturalists and/or people who wish they could be here may appreciate what I’m doing. The beach and headlands change with the season, the weather, lighting, and the tides. The images I post are similar but do reflect the changes of the day.
What I failed to acknowledge is that the images I post also provide an opportunity for escape. When weary, escapism can be a welcome distraction. These are unusual times we live in. Not only are we all weary from our day to day responsibilities, we are stressed by public health concerns and politics. I believe there is merit to what some may think is redundancy. Cheers to a happy Thursday and enjoy my pics. May they provide at least a moment of distraction that brings you comfort. #iluvtowalk #baxteronthego
