Today’s Walk: RIP RBG & Respite via Walking

Last night the world was notified of the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (RBG). RBG fought for our civil rights making it clear that women’s rights were part of civil rights. She gave a great fight against the cancer that ultimately took her life at 87 years of age. I know that I speak for many in sending condolences to her family but also hoping that her legacy lives on thru the actions of other people. She will be watching from above and I’m sure would be pleased if we achieve an unprecedented voter turnout for the upcoming presidential election. Please exercise your right to vote. Casting your ballot DOES matter.

This morning I opted to walk the beach rather than the headland. I crave the exercise but also needed some form of comfort after hearing last night’s news. What better than to be surrounded by the strength of the ocean. The sounds of the waves hitting the shore and the tumbling of the rocks during the water’s retreat. The harbor seal eye candy also helps as the skittishness of the seals reminds me that our lives and actions do influence others.

I have included a video clip in this post so you can quasi partake in my beach experience. I hope it brings you comfort and/or a moment to pause and reflect. #iluvtowalk #baxteronthego #humboldt #trinidadcalifornia #ruthbaderginsburg #vote
