Fall 2020 begins with two notable events; one local and one national. Trinidad’s commercial fishing fleet and the seasonal sport fishermen and women have dry docked their boats which significantly changes the landscape of Trinidad Bay and Harbor. Our community flag continues to fly at half-staff in honor of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg who lies in repose for two days at the Supreme Court, giving the public an opportunity to pay their last respects. On Friday, Ginsburg will lie in state at the US Capitol becoming the first woman in history to be honored with this distinction.

Meanwhile, Baxter and I took our usual spin around the headland and it was fantastic! Warm, little to no wind, T-shirt weather and the wonderful solitude we seek. North Coast Fall weather is usually spectacular and if the last few days are any indication we are off to a great start. This is a great time to experience our local trails and waterways.
