I have been surprised how quickly the time flys by. We all deserve a pat on the back for surviving another bizarre week. Only 25 days remain until the election. Like many I’m hopeful that we can get past this failed experiment and pull the American people back together. I don’t envy the next administration and the challenges they have in front of them.
Meanwhile, we all need to vote and do whatever we can to maintain some kind of “normalcy” in our lives. For me it’s the daily walks Baxter and I take. This morning was exceptionally quiet and peaceful in town and on the headland; our only company was a garter snake that crossed our path. Unfortunately I wasn’t quick enough to capture an image. In my six years of walking this headland it was only the second time I have stumbled upon one.
The memorial on top of the headland remains untouched and continues to grow. This morning there was the addition of a Saint Christopher’s medal (see image below). There’s some new graffiti poetry on the headland and the city’s public works department is “fortifying” the directional barricade because some yahoo keeps removing it. Quite a feat because to do so means the culprits must drag it down a steep hill. Why?
Late morning brought us sunshine and 63 degrees with no wind. A perfect kickoff to the weekend. We will be having lunch outside today. Enjoy the pics! #iluvtowalk #baxteronthego #trinidadcalifornia #humboldt
