The Broadway musical Hamilton captured the hearts and minds of so many not normally enthusiastic about history. The production took artistic license with the historical record but in doing so it became a cultural phenomenon that got the public’s attention and generated a lot of interest in history. Similar to the affect the movie Night at the Museum had on popularizing museums. The Hamilton production featured award winning actor Leslie Odum Jr. who played the former Third US Vice President, Aaron Burr Jr. Burr is best known as the man who shot and killed Alexander Hamilton (in a duel).
Odum used his talents during this election cycle to encourage folks to get out and vote. He is now repurposing his Hamilton song, providing a much needed, calming message, in a one minute PSA video, Wait for it. The video reminds people to be patient; that it takes time to certify ballots. That all our votes have a constitutional right to be counted. To still the angst and, wait for it.
