It’s such a joy to have our daughter Alexandra staying with us and joining me as a walking partner. I call her the “new improved version” of me because she is just that. A beautiful and smart (much taller) woman who like her brother Kalani is a great genetic mix of my husband and I. We have always said it was a shame to “shut down the factory” after the two were born.
Both of our adult children are charting their own professional paths and live in neighboring states. After considerable discussion, they took great precautions before coming to visit us in December which included isolating themselves and taking Covid tests. Like many families, we had not seen either of our children for a year. The last two years have been, to say the least, very challenging, beginning with my husband’s kidney failure which was the catalyst for my job resignation so that I could be at home full time rather than commuting. It went on from there. We had thought 2019 was bad. Little did any of us know what a sh** show 2020 would be. It was a pleasure to ring in the new year and welcome 2021. We have high hopes for a better year.
For another week or so we have our daughter home. I plan to make the most of it and enjoy every day because who knows when we will see each other in person again. If 2020 has taught us anything, its to take nothing for granted. So this am we got out the door early and took a spin around Trinidad Head. It gives me great joy to be back on the trail; especially accompanied by such great company.
The lighting this morning provided some great photo opportunities. Like our current life, we are in between storms. Enjoy the pics! #iluvtowalk #baxteronthego #trinidadcalifornia #humboldt #humboldtcounty
