Our big local news is that California Crab Fishermen have reached an agreement with their retail middlemen and will be heading out to sea tomorrow. Oregon fishermen finalized their negotiations earlier this week. On today’s walk, I spotted nine of Trinidad’s fleet of 17 fishing boats out in the harbor. Crew were putting bait in the traps that have been sitting parked by the harbor since December. Let the long awaited Dungeness Crab season begin! It looks like we will have fresh crab for Sunday’s dinner.
We had a foggy morning with a high tide which in combination with the King tide left little beach exposed. The ocean is rocking and rolling from yesterday’s storm.
