Baxter and I took our walk in some very blustery weather this morning. There’s a big storm predicted for our region and the ocean bears testimony that it’s well on its way. The waves were big, the tide was high and the wind was blowing hard. Not a day for a walk on the beach. But as the US Coast Guard well knows, people don’t think and don’t heed warnings because they are curious about storms. Looking down on Trinidad State Beach from the top of the headland (while shaking my head) I watched three people who were hanging out on the beach run for safety from the fast approaching surf. Not the smartest thing to be doing in a storm like this.
