Winters on the Northern California coast mean rainy days with intermittent days of sunshine. I woke up this morning to a light drizzle so Baxter and I quickly got dressed and out the door. Realizing the drizzle would turn into much more, I wanted to start walking before my willpower caved. It’s easy to lose enthusiasm when it’s dark and gloomy outside.
One thing I’ve learned is that if I don’t workout in the morning, I will come up with excuses not to do it later. Which means, I only hurt myself. My daily walks keep me fit and directly influence my attitude. It’s amazing what a walk outside can do for you.
I’m always astonished by how much the natural light changes with the weather and time of day. It’s one of the reasons I photograph and share the same locations repeatedly.
