It’s a spectacular Monday morning on the north coast which is timely because after celebrating my birthday last week, I need to burn off the scrumptious cream cheese frosted carrot cake I’ve been eating. That’s the dilemma with having a cake in the house when you are empty nesters. It used to be that our kids could be relied on to help make that cake disappear. Put it in the freezer say our friends. Yeah right. Like THAT’s gonna happen.
Baxter and I took a spin around the headland and found its first trillium bud of the season. We also had a little time to beach comb and I found a new piece of inspiration: a really cool, nicely shaped and centered piece of pottery, that could make an awesome bracelet. I’m going to think on that one; both are in my pics below.
I’m officially calling it spring. After our walk I inspected the wild ginger in our backyard and I’m thrilled to report that it is in bloom! The cool thing about wild ginger is that its blooms are like tiny purple orchids but you need to gently peek under the main leaves to see them. What a great start to the week! Enjoy my pics. #iluvtowalk #baxteronthego #trinidadcalifornia #humboldtcounty #humboldt
