For the first time in 14 months (since the Covid shutdown) my husband and I drove across the county line to make the five and one half hour car ride to San Francisco. This is the first time in years we were able to drive across the Golden Gate Bridge in light traffic. We experienced more traffic driving thru Eureka as we headed south!
Our drive yesterday was much easier than normal, traffic along the way on HWY 101 was very light (even thru Petaluma!) and our hotel made us feel very comfortable with their responses to the pandemic. It’s very apparent that the people of San Francisco have taken the pandemic and stay at home very seriously. I am very impressed with the precautions being taken. The downside in making such a trip was that public restroom availability was very limited. The highway rest stops were closed. I was denied restroom use at a gas station and in desperation tried and was denied at the neighboring McDonalds. Heads up if your traveling south.
This morning’s walk was on Crissy Field in the Presidio. It’s one of my favorite walks. It parallels the water and has some of the best views of the Golden Gate Bridge. There were far fewer people on the trail than pre-Covid. It looked like mostly locals instead of the mass amounts of tourists the park usually gets which suggests tourism has taken a big hit. Enjoy my pics! #iluvtowalk #crissyfield #presidio #sanfrancisco #goldengatebridge
