Today’s Walk: Reviving Inner Strength thru Art & Nature

Life comes with challenges. Sometimes we are given a heads up and other times it’s brought by surprise. One way or another we find ways to cope and survive. I feed my inner strength thru exposure to Art & Nature. In my mind there are two kinds of art; human made and art created by nature. I look for the beauty in both, trying to keep an open mind.

My experiences on outings or daily walks, whether they be urban or rural, inspire me by what I see and encourage me to keep on trucking. I have a preference for walking in or near coastal forests. I am fortunate that my primary residence is in that environment with the vegetation and rhythm of the ocean to revitalize me. To a certain extent I am also an adaptable sort; I look for beauty wherever I am planted.

Since March 22 I have been living out of a suitcase in the San Francisco Bay Area. On March 24 my husband had a kidney transplant and on April 1 our son selflessly donated a kidney to ensure that his father would receive someone else’s via the National Paired Donor Program. It is an extraordinary program with a major impact on people’s lives. So while we venture through this experience I continue to renew my inner strength thru my walks amongst Art & Nature.

The following pics are things l I’ve seen in the city and adjacent headlands. As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if you truly believe that, it can be found anywhere. It may take different forms, but can be found if one is paying attention. #iluvtowalk #sanfrancisco #marinheadlands #goldengate
