This morning Baxter and I got back into our routine and made the loop around Trinidad Head after a very fun week of playing tourist with visiting family. We feel so grateful to live next to Redwood National and State Parks. Lots of safe outdoor opportunities for family fun. Can’t beat a week of hiking, kayaking and sailing, combined with some walkabouts to look at public art.
The fog subsided this morning but our air quality is showing signs of impact by the Monument Fire in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest in Trinity County near Redding, CA. We have a smokey haze and some ash in the air. Fingers crossed that the fire doesn’t get much worse. Currently the fire is burning almost 58,000 acres with just 3 percent containment. Even though the Trinity County fire was caused by lightning strikes, please take care when camping, enjoying camp fires, and/or hauling trailers. Mother Nature may strike at will but human caused fires can be prevented. Sorry, it’s the Girl Scout in me. 😉
Got some good pics. Enjoy! #iluvtowalk #trinidadcalifornia #humboldtcounty #humboldt
