After a 10 day break Baxter and I are back on the morning trail walk. This time of year Mondays are wonderful; we had the trail to ourselves. No off-leash dogs or people walking the trail while yakking on their cell phones. A nice, quiet serine morning on the trail with a little beach combing on Launcher Beach.

This time of year is bittersweet as summer shows sign of nearing its end. I mourn the loss of summer every year but enjoy the slow down in tourism. I walk for exercise AND peace of mind. Walking provides me with an opportunity to clear my mind and wander with my thoughts. Having a dog in ones life also provides incentive to get out and walk. If your on the fence about adding a dog to your life, I highly recommend it. Dogs make the best (on leash) walking buddies.
