On this morning’s walk Baxter and I ran into a handful of artists working on plein air painting entries for the Redwood Arts Association’s annual Humboldt Open Paint Out competition. Each person seemingly focused on different aspects of the marine environment.
My blog features pics that I take when I’m out and about. Seeing the painters reminded me of just how important access to nature and art is in our lives, especially during a pandemic. The pics I post capture some of what I see along the trail or in my travels. Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder and how one defines art is a personal perspective. You don’t have to be a professional artist to express your creativity. The natural world does the work for you, that is, if you take the time to appreciate it.
Art is all around us; be it natural or human made. One just needs to look for it. Consider taking a walk and taking some pics along the way. Or, stroll (or beach comb) and collect your own cache of three dimensional objects. Both are great mood lifters. I know it works for me! Enjoy my pics! #iluvtowalk #baxteronthego #trinidadcalifornia #humboldtcounty #humboldt #pleinairpainting
