Today’s Walk: Pay Attention to the Sky

This morning’s sunrise was gorgeous. From the vantage point of our backyard, I saw a sky filled with an orange glow. I didn’t make it out early enough to capture it in pics, but Baxter and I did take our usual spin around Trinidad Head underneath a very beautiful and dramatic sky. We are currently in between storms and this morning’s clouds put on a majestic show.

It was high tide at the time of our walk and Trinidad State Beach beckoned. The beach was vacant when we came off the headland so it was an opportunity too good to miss. The contrast between the wet sand and the skyline was gorgeous. I got a few nice water pics from the tidal surge. There was one lone surfer out trying to catch a wave but without a macro lens he is hard to spot in my pics.

Happy Dia de Los Muertos! I’m looking forward to tonight’s display of Ofrendas by community members near the gazebo in Old Town Eureka (4-8 pm). Last year’s event was organized with Covid safety protocols in place. Going early made it very easy to social distance. Enjoy my pics! #iluvtowalk #baxteronthego #trinidadcalifornia #humboldtcounty #humboldt #diadelosmuertos
