Today’s Walk: Escaping the Moving Boxes

My husband and I recently relocated 7 hrs north across the California state line to the central Oregon coast. A job acceptance on my part motivated this move. It is not our first relocation. In our 35 years of marriage we have made 8 moves together; 5 of which were interstate moves including one that involved crossing the Pacific. We are obviously not new to the moving game but not matter how well planned, moving consumes a lot of energy.

Moving and downsizing, in addition to one’s first week on the job, create a lot of stress. Our last two moves involved intentional downsizing. Our big hang up: books and cooking supplies. We have LOTS of them. This most recent move included a 200 sq ft reduction of space plus the loss of a garage. In our previous move we gave up 800 sq ft. of living space and sizable out buildings. This morning, in an effort to relieve some stress, our dog Baxter and I took a 3.75 mile walk.

Our walk started out a little blustery but finished with sunshine, hardly any wind, and the fortunate find of a painted rock. Tomorrow is Mother’s Day. I wish all my fellow Mom’s a glorious day! Enjoy my pics! #iluvtowalk #baxteronthego #centraloregoncoast #perspectivesfrommytrail
