Today’s Walk: Happy Monday

Monday May 4, 2020

Happy Monday! We have made it thru another week and are on to the next. It was a beautiful morning and if the meteorologist is correct we will have a gorgeous week ahead of us!

This morning was a reminder that things are not always what they seem. Baxter and I walked down the hill to the base of the headland and found 19 cars parked in the beach parking lot. Unusual for early morning on a weekday let alone a Monday. Later in the day, sure. Not a good sign for early morning bliss. But, I was pleasantly surprised. I don’t know where all these folks were but they were not on the headland. I assume they were on the beach. Baxter and I had the trail to ourselves and we enjoyed a peaceful walk.

There is a lot of discussion about public access right now. I applaud the City of Trinidad for taking action and making the headland trail a one-way walk to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 while keeping the trail open. The trail is a loop so normally the walker makes a choice. You can walk it either way. We may have differing opinions on which direction is preferable but I gotta say I’m loving the change. It helps with social distancing while giving one the illusion that there are less people around. Morning bliss. Maybe we should keep it this way. #iluvtowalk #walkingmakesmehappy #baxteronthego
