Today’s Kayak: Saying Goodbye to Summer

Today is officially the last full day of summer. Sigh…I am anxious to bid 2020 goodbye, but each year I do mourn the end of summer. Its not that I don’t like the other seasons; each has their own beauty and pros & cons. Summer however, makes it so much easier to do the outdoor activities I enjoy. Summer eliminates the hassle of bundling up for the weather elements. Daylight hours are longer and the sunshine makes me feel more energized.

Today I opted to spend the morning kayaking with my friend Sara instead of walking the headland. Our paddle was followed by lunch on the beach. It was a great day for birding; the other local wildlife were in hiding this morning. The big feature of the day was the amazing lighting and reflections we found on the glassy water. A fantastic day on the water and on the beach. Enjoy my pics. Pics of me were taken by Sara Starr. #iluvtokayak #humboldt #biglagoon #maplecreek
