Today’s Walk: Trekking Across the Golden Gate

Today’s stress buster was a 6.6 mile walk that included a round trip trek across the Golden Gate Bridge. If you have never done it, I highly recommend it. The vantage point from the bridge is incredible!

San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge is 1.7 miles long. On a clear day like today, the views are stunning and the bridge architecture is amazing. My daughter and I observed US Coast Guard in action, barges, sailboats, sea birds, harbor seal, California sea lions, and a grey whale. You read that correctly, today we whale watched from atop of the Golden Gate Bridge!

I got some great pics today. Unfortunately none of the whale; my cell phone camera is good but not that good. We watched the whale with the binoculars I carried. It looked like the whale was feeding. She repeatedly dove down exposing her dorsal fin and flapped her flukes. We also watched her spout. I couldn’t tell if she had a calf with her. Tis the season. Enjoy my pics! #iluvtowalk #goldengatebridge #sanfrancisco #bridges #whalewatching #architecture #architectureart
